Description

Inspired by the Folkboat concept but emphsising the accommodation, the Great Dane 28, designed by Aage Utzon of Denmark, found favour with offshore sailers. The sea kindly hull and substantial keel provides a predictable performance best suited to Channel sea conditions. The GD 28 was first brought to the UK market in 1965. A managable boat shorthanded, the GD28 will make a fine family cruiser at a very modest cost. The vessel has some racing pedgree too!

FOWARD - Twin berth with access to the deck via hatch providing light, ventilation and emergency escape. Windows to P & S and access to the anchor chain locker. Excellent stowage below the bunks in purpose made units. HEADS - (P) Jabsco sea toilet (manual). Opposite (S) wardrobe with rail, door shared to provide privacy to forward cabin from main cabin. GALLEY - Longitudinally situated (S) with generous work surface and storage above and below. S/S sink with pressured cold water, two burner hob and grill. Quarter berth (S) MAIN SALOON - large table with two bench seats facing fore and aft, stowage above and below. Navigation table and related aids. Engine is situated below the companionway steps accessing the cockpit. All the interior wood work has been kept to a good standard. COCKPIT - deep and secure with plenty of crew seating and wet locker space.
